Yeah, I will definitely be bummed out if this is indicative of the musical integrity he's shooting for. What in the heck did he need Vinnie for? Vinnie must have thought, "Whatever dude, just wire the $$$ to my account."
I just remember being totally blown away and psyched when Dream Of The Blue Turtles came out. I hope it hasnt slid that far down hill.
I think to give Sting a verbal bashing is a touch unfair, after all, look at the calibre of musicians that have played for him in his career, as well as The Police which was at a point one of the biggest bands in the world. He also has a taste of odd time which is quite rare in commercial marketed music. Most songwriters/musicians have a bad spell eg Clapton/Michael Jackson/Led Zeppelin etc, in which they tend to spit out their 'not so moving work'..... including a handful of name drummers I wont mention (dont want to start a war!). We all have limitations one way or another, even u!
